Headshots – Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect my session to be like?

My headshot sessions are very straight forward. Sessions are relaxed and we will work together to capture images that deliver an authentic, approachable and confident impression to the viewer.

What location should I choose for my session?

My headshot sessions are generally shot in my professional studio in Stevenson, MD. This gives us flexibility for lighting, warddrobe and styling.

For an additional fee, I am available to come to your location of choice. This is a great option for busy executives or team sessions for your business.

Should I Use a Makeup Artist?

Men, generally you can skip this question unless you have a complexion issue that should be addressed.

Ladies, having a stylist at your session can be very beneficial. Many choose to do their own styling, and others choose to work with their personsal salon before coming in for their session. The makeup service is an addon and not included in the session fee. We will put you in contact with a makeup artist and they can provide you with their current session fee.

What on earth should I wear?

The best clothing choices are ones that you love wearing and fit the brand that you want to present through your headshot. I recommend bringing a few different options to choose from. To be honest, preparing for your headshot session is just as important as your actual session. Getting in the right frame of mind, figuring out your style, and being recently groomed will give you a fantastic foundation for your session.

Can I Get More Images from my Session?

Absolutely! We get clients asking for more images all the time. Additional images can be purchased for $50 per image. Simply let me know when making your selections that you’d like additional images and I’ll take care of it.

What do the limited copyright privileges on my jpegs include?

I will provide you with a copyright release form along with your jpegs that gives you the right to have prints made, make photo books, email images to friends, put them on facebook, etc. The images are ultimately still property of the photographer and, since they have been carefully enhanced, should not be altered in any way.
